We offer private voice lessons online or in-person (in the Richmond, VA and Fairfax, VA metro areas). We also offer the Curious Singer Membership as an asynchronous option for learning how your voice works. Whether you want the individualized attention of private lessons or the lower cost + time commitment of a membership, we’d love to help.

If you or your child can hear the difference between higher and lower notes in music, it’s unlikely that tone deafness is the issue. More often, singers struggle with pitch because of either a pitch-processing issue (how the brain interprets sound) or a vocal coordination issue (how the voice responds physically). The good news is that both can improve with the right training.
In voice lessons, we can assess pitch matching, listening skills, and vocal coordination to help determine what’s going on and whether singing lessons would be a good fit. We’re happy to explore this together during a free trial lesson so you can decide whether lessons feel worthwhile before making a commitment.

Absolutely — adults can learn how to sing at any age.
Many adult singers worry that they “missed their chance” to learn singing because they didn’t start as children, but the voice is a skill that can continue developing throughout adulthood. With consistent practice and the right vocal training, adults can improve pitch, tone, range, breath coordination, confidence, and overall vocal control.
In fact, many adult voice students make progress quickly because they tend to be more patient, self-aware, and motivated than younger singers. Whether you’re a complete beginner, returning to singing after years away, or looking to improve your technique, singing lessons can help you build a healthier and more confident voice.
Voice lessons for adults are tailored to your individual goals, experience level, and musical interests. Whether you want to sing pop, rock, musical theatre, or simply feel more comfortable using your voice, it’s never too late to start learning how to sing.

Most singers begin noticing some improvement within a few weeks to a few months — but progress depends heavily on consistency outside of lessons.
Some voice students experience noticeable changes in their singing voice very quickly, especially when they develop better vocal coordination, reduce tension, or improve pitch accuracy. Others progress more gradually over several months as they build new vocal habits and strengthen technique over time.
The biggest factor in how quickly you improve at singing is usually not “natural talent,” but the amount of consistent practice and mindful repetition happening between voice lessons. Students who regularly apply what they learn during the week tend to see faster and more sustainable results.
Singing is a skill that develops through repetition, coordination, and patience. With regular voice lessons and steady practice, many singers improve their vocal control, confidence, range, tone, and ease much sooner than they expected.

Our studio takes a holistic approach to voice lessons, meaning we focus on the whole person — not just the voice itself.
While strong vocal technique is an important part of learning to sing, we also recognize that confidence, anxiety, perfectionism, mindset, and nervous system regulation can have a huge impact on a singer’s progress and experience. Many singers don’t simply need more vocal exercises — they need a supportive environment where they can feel safe, expressive, and confident using their voice.
We especially enjoy working with singers who struggle with performance anxiety, overthinking, self-criticism, or fear around singing. Through a combination of technical vocal training, mindset work, and individualized support, we help singers build healthier vocal habits while also developing greater confidence and ease.
Our students range from complete beginners to seasoned professionals, but many of them share a common goal: they want to feel more confident, more expressive, and less anxious when they sing.
Whether you’re learning to sing for the first time or refining an already-developed voice, our goal is to help you sing with greater freedom, confidence, and authenticity.
